The Ministry of National Policy of the Republic of Komi increased the amount of federal subsidies attracted to the republic.
Thus, over RUR 6.5 mln from the federal budget will be allocated in inter-ethnic projects of the Republic of Komi. This Sergey Gaplikov, Head of the Republic of Komi was informed of by Galina Gabusheva, Minister of National Policy of the region.
According to Agreements signed with the Federal Agency for Nationalities (FADN), funds will be allocated in the activities to strengthen the unity of the Russian nation and ethnic and cultural development of the peoples of Russia. They will also serve as supporting means of economic and social development of indigenous peoples of the North.
In particular, military and civil patriotic events, inter-ethnic relations harmonizing contests, publications of printed, multimedia and other materials promoting inter-ethnic unity are planned. Besides, there are plans for implementing ethnic cultural and social projects, performing scientific and methodological work in promoting state languages in the Republic of Komi, air transportation of reindeer breeders’ children from their study places to the tundra and back during the summer holidays.
Galina Gabusheva added that this year funds attracted in the Republic of Komi exceeded the last year’s level by 10 per cent.
The Minister also noted that according to the FADN rules, constituents demonstrating positive trends in inter-ethnic relations would be funded.
