“Cluster structure in timber industry complex is specific,” Sergey Gaplikov said
Speaking at the IV International Conference "Pulp and Paper Industry of Russia. New Realities, New Opportunities", the Head of the Republic of Komi shared expertize in creation a forestry cluster in the region.
“Today Komi timber industry cluster includes 15 companies and organizations. This is a new promising mechanism to support investment activities. However, the cluster structure in timber industry has a number of specific differences from other clusters, for example, machine-building. This does not allow a full use of existing support measures,” Sergey Gaplikov said.
The Head of the Republic of Komi proposed the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia to develop and submit to the Government of the Russian Federation a draft decree “On approving the Rules for granting subsidies to the Russian organizations of timber industry complex from the federal budget to implement projects in timber industry clusters”, which will consider timber industry clusters peculiarities.
Sergey Gaplikov also proposed changes into relevant regulations expanding the number of possible timber industry clusters participants.
