A biofuel plant was opened in Kydzyavidz Village
Head of the Republic of Komi Sergey Gaplikov participated in the solemn ceremony of launching the new pellet shop. Today he is on a working trip to Priluzye District.
The line for processing sawdust into pellets was installed in 2017. Its annual capacity is up to 50,000 tons of biofuel, the annual wood waste utilization volume exceeds 100,000 m3. Products will partially supply local market (the current annual demand is less than 10,000 tons), the rest will be sold outside the republic and exported to the EU states.
The plant was built within Luzales Company investment project included in the priority list by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. The project implementation period is until 2023, the total investments are RUR 882 mln.
Over 300 people work in the company, most of them are local residents.
"The project is one of the drivers for the timber industry development. It is of strategic importance for the district and the republic. The full capacity pellet production will increase the number of jobs and the volume of tax revenues into the regional budget. We have been supporting and will continue to support companies creating new industries, providing employment in the countryside and at the same time preserving the status of our reliable social partners," Sergey Gaplikov commented after familiarizing with the production cycle.
Over the past two years, the timber industry of the republic has demonstrated a stable growth. Thus, in 2017 Luzales sawmilling amounted to 273,000 m3, which is 65% more than in 2016.
