Sergey Gaplikov said, "Slovakia is a promising business partner for the Republic of Komi"
The Head of the Republic of Komi discussed the possibilities of interregional cooperation with Alexey Fedotov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Slovak Republic. The working meeting was held at the Russian Embassy in Bratislava.
The Slovak Republic is an important European trade and economic partner of the Russian Federation. In 2018 the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between our countries will be celebrated. Great attention is paid to interregional cooperation, the geography of contacts between Russian and Slovak regions is constantly expanding. In May this year, the delegation of the Slovak Republic visited Syktyvkar on a business trip. The guests had working meetings with representatives of the regional Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Culture and paid visits to a number of industrial companies.
Sergey Gaplikov noted the prospects for cooperation in education and tourism. The Republic of Komi is also interested in the Slovak experience in cattle breeding and crops growing, projects implementation in processing industry and pharmaceutics.
Alexey Fedotov expressed his readiness to assist in organizing an information tour for business and government representatives of the Republic of Komi to present regional investment potential, to visit the Slovakian industries and to arrange a reciprocal mission of Slovak delegation. The Head of the Republic of Komi supported the proposal.
Earlier Sergey Gaplikov held a business meeting with representatives of the Czech-Slovak financial and industrial group. They discussed cooperation between Slovakia and the Republic of Komi in the implementation of projects on value-added wood processing and furniture manufacturing.
