Sergey Gaplikov held a working meeting with Dmitry Lyubinsky, Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Austria
The meeting was held in the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Vienna and was dedicated to the development of cooperation between the Republic of Komi and European countries in economy, culture and tourism.
According to Dmitry Lyubinsky, Austrian companies show a keen interest in business development in Russia. The volume of their investments into Russian economy today amounts to USD 7 bln. In June 2017 at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, RF President Vladimir Putin and Federal Chancellor of the Austrian Republic Christian Kern expressed interest in regular economic and political exchanges between two countries.
The Republic of Komi is one of the regions with sustainable economic development and is ready to offer favourable business conditions to investors. The regional leadership holds meetings with potential partners at various business events. In June 2017 Sergey Gaplikov took part in Prague Business Meetings, the financial and economic forum of the CIS and European states, where he held negotiations with representatives of the financial and banking sectors of different countries.
A lot of work is done by the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Komi to the President of the Russian Federation within the framework of the Club of Heads of Trade and Economic Missions (Embassy Departments) of foreign states accredited in Moscow. Austrian trade councilors took part in the Club meetings.
Sergey Gaplikov and Dmitry Lyubinsky agreed to organize the exchange of business missions in 2018. "In particular, representatives of the Austrian business community could be interested in investment projects in agriculture and tourism," the Ambassador said, expressing readiness to provide all necessary assistance.
