Ivan Pozdeev was born on 5 February, 1963 in v. Ust-Tsilma, Ust-Tsilma District, Komi ASSR.
He has gone into higher education. In 1991 he graduated from Leningrad Political Sciences College with a degree in social and political theory.
In 2000, he graduated from Syktyvkar State University with a degree in law.
In 1980, he worked at Khabarits eight-year school, Ust-Tsilma District.
Between 1983 and 1984, Ivan Pozdeev was a secretary of YCL organization at Nizhne-Pechorsky State Farm, Ust-Tsilma District. In 1984-1986 he served in the army.
In 1987, he took the course at Leningrad Higher Party School.
In 1988, he was a secretary of the party organization in Nizhne-Pechorsky State Farm and later worked there as a safety engineer.
In 1990, Ivan Pozdeev worked as a reeve of Khabaritz village Soviet of Peoples’ Deputies, Ust-Tsilma District.
Between 1991 and 1997, he was deputy director and a director of CJSC AP Building Materials in Syktyvkar.
In 1997, he worked as a deputy director of Steven of Perm Foundation.
Between 1999 and 2003, Ivan Pozdeev had been holding in succession the positions of chief project manager, chairman of the board of directors and general director at CJSC Building Materials-K.
On 17 November, 2003, he was appointed as a senior deputy minister of architecture, construction and communal services of the Republic of Komi.
On 15 September, 2004, he was appointed on the position of minister of architecture, construction, communal services and energy of the Republic of Komi.
On 29 October, 2004, the decree of the head of the Republic of Komi appointed him in office of minister of architecture, construction, communal services and energy of the Republic of Komi.
On 9 February 2010 he was appointed as Deputy Head of the Republic of Komi by order of the Head of the Republic of Komi.
Ivan Pozdeev is married with two daughters.
