Alexey Chernov was born on 24 December, 1968 in Leningrad.
He has gone into higher education. In 1998 he graduated from St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University with a degree in economics and management of mechanical engineering companies and in 2002 – St. Petersburg University of Economics and Finance with a degree in management and marketing.
Between 1987 and 1989 he served in the army.
In 1989 he was a floor secretary at Lenfilm Film Studio.
Between 1990 and 2002 Alexey Chernov held leading positions at various companies.
Since 22 July, 2002 he had been working as adviser and chief adviser to the head of the Republic of Komi.
Since 14 January, 2003 he had been chief adviser to the head of the Republic of Komi.
On 16 February, 2006 he was appointed on the position of deputy head of the Republic of Komi by the decree passed by the head of the Republic of Komi.
On 20 May, 2009 he was appointed on the position of Senior deputy head of the Republic of Komi by the decree passed by the head of the Republic of Komi.
On 9 February 2010 he was appointed as Senior Deputy Head of the Republic of Komi by order of the Head of the Republic of Komi.
Alexey Chernov is married, with a daughter and a son.
